Agra

Agra Agra is famous as being home to one of the Seven Wonders of the World-the Taj Mahal. The architectural splendor of the mausoleums, the fort and the palaces is a vivid remainder of the mausoleums, the fort and the palaces is a vivid reminder of the capital in the 16th and early 17th centuries. Agra was once the capital of the Mughal Empire and even today it seems to linger in the past.

Agra was the capital city of Sikander Lodhi, the second ruler of the Lodhi dynasty, who defeated by the persian King Babur in 1526 A.D. Babur too made Agra his capital city and so began the great Mughal rule. it was Babur who build the first monument in Agra, a planned garden garden called Gul-e-Afgaan or the Aaram Baugh.

The other main tourist destinations are the sandstone Red Fort, which dates back to 1565 and contains many marvelous palaces and halls, and Fatehpur Sikri, a fort built by Mughal Emperor Akbar.
