In the morning, you will go on tour of Cochin. You will visit St.Francis Church- the oldest European church in India, the Santa Cruz Basilica built in 1557 by the Portuguese, the Dutch Palace, the spice market and the 15th century Chinese fishing nets believed to have been brought by Chinese traders and a Jewish Synagogue in what is locally called the Jew town. Later drive to Munnar, a town situated at the confluence of three mountain streams- Muthirapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala, with vast expanses of tea plantations, rivulets, waterfalls and cool weather and ideal of trekking and mountain biking. The hill station of Munnar once used to be the summer resort of the erstwhile British administration in south India and the town has many remanents of colonial architecture. Day 03 - Munnar

Today you will go on a sightseeing tour of Munnar starting with a visit to the Tea Museum. The museum houses curios photographs and machinery; all of which have a story o tell on the origins and growth of tea plantations in Munnar. Later you will visit the Eravikulam National Park located about 15km from Munnar, the park is famous for its endangers inhabitant- the NIlgiri Tahr ( a mountain goat unique to the area). Spread over an area of 97 sq. km., This Park is also home to several species of rare butterflies, animals and birds. A great place of trekking, the park offers o magnificent view of tea plantations and rolling hills caressed by blankets of mists. The park becomes a very popular destination when the hill slopes here are covered in a carpet of blue due to the flowering of Neelakurinji plant endemic to this part of the Western Ghats, once every twelve years you then visit Mattuppetty known for its storage masonry dam and a beautiful lake where you could go on pleasurable boat rides, enjoying the surrounding hills and landscapes. From here on a very clear day one can have a superb view of some of the highest peaks of Bhutan like Ganger Puensum ( 7497 meters ). Zongaphugang ( 7060 meters) a table mountain, jeje khang ( 7158 meters). Masa Khang ( 7194 meters), and Gangcheyta ( 6794 meters ). Pangong Lake, situated at 1400 ft ( 4.267 m), is a long narrow basin of inland drainage, hardly six to seven kelometers at its widest point an over 135 km long. About at third of the Lake is under Indian occupation and remains under Chinese control. The Chinese border is just beyond the mountains across the lakes. Spangmilk 7 km along the southern shore from the head of the lake is the farthest point to which foreigners are permitted. There are spectacular views of the mountains of Changchenmo Range to the north and there Shimmering reflection in the ever- Changing blues and greens of the Laker’s brakish waters is breathtaking . about Spangmilk are the glaciers and snow – capped peaks of the Pangong range. Spangmilk and other scattered tiny villages along the Lake’s southern share are the summer homes of a scanty population of Chang- Pa, the semi –nomadic herdsmen of Tibet and southest Ladakh. The Pangong Chang – Pa cultivate sparse crops of barely and peas in summers. During the winters that the pack their camps ( called Rebo) and take their flocks of sheep and Pashmina goats out to the distant pastures. Afternoon to the Two satellite islands of Pirali one and Pirali Two that lie off Bangaram are unhabited. It takes half an hour to zip across in a speed boat. The isolation of these small unhabited islands is a refreshing change. Thinnakara island is situated just opposite side of Bangarum island and share the same lagoon. On the north south edge of the lagoon Parali (I); Parali (II), Parali (III) and Kalpitty are located. Bangaram is a tiny teardrop shaped island, which lies very close to Agatti island.
